Default Traditions XLT thumbhole Ml'er

I was at a local gun shop today and they had a traditions XLT .50 muzzleloader with camo thumbhole stock/ nickel? barrel. That rifle was freakin awesome! The break action was the best ive found, smooth, none of that hard clicking sound or action, It was a sweet break open.Stock also was awesome on it, big hole for my thumb/palm, sights were bad for my eyes though. The balance was awesome on it. They even let me pull the trigger! I'd say it broke at 3lbs with very little to no creep. $350 but i could get him down some on it. I was really impressed with the rifle, i honestly didnt expect this.

im seriously thinking about buying one. That was a sweet little setup on that rifle. I held a 30-06 with a laminated thumb hole stock and it was no where near as comfortable. The XLT's stock had like a rubbery feeling to it that gripped nice. Ahhhhh i said i wouldnt buy another inline but now im really tempted! [:@]

You know if you stay out of the gun stores you won't be as tempted.

I have the same trouble, everytime I go into one I find something I "NEED". This week I just had to have that blueing touch up pen (just in case) and the professional size Birchwood Casey gun cleaner/degreaser (hey, I'm running low). I also found some 3 packs of small brushes (1 plastic,1 brass, 1 steel) at harbor freight for 49 cents per pack, they are useful for cleaning breachplugs, etc. I already have 3 unopened packs but I bought 2 more for good measure.

I need to stay away from the online auctions too. I've got at least 10 items I'm watching now on a couple of different sites, 3 of the items are MLers. Probably will notbid onmost of them but it all depends on the price near the end of the auction, if its a good deal its tough to resist. One of the MLers is for a destructive testing project I've been working on, just don't let my wife know, she already said no more guns this year.

So I guess I need to learn to stay away also.

I found a better price for you on the XLT at Sportsmans Guide. If you get it and fire it and dont like it, SG will take it back as long as you have the receipt. In fact they give you a lifetime warranty on refunds with the receipt of course. If i have the right one its only 319.97 for non membersand 287.97 if your a club member. I can give you a code to get 10.00 off your purchase too. Let me know.Heres the link. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=297292
