Default .357 cal with a double sabot

I saw this double sabot with a .357 cal bullet setup on some sight, your supposed to be able to shot the smaller caliber through a .50

Anyone ever use this setup or hear about it?

If it worked it would make your .50 a flatter shooter with more range for varmits right?

It is amazing what people will come up when it comes to shooting these things. Personally I would just go with a lighter bullet like a 10mm or 40 caliber and shoot the blue MMP sabot out of the rifle. That will be about as flat a shooter as you could get. They also sell the 10mm XTP in bulk which makes them a very cost effective load to shoot. They also have some impressive down range thump when they hit...

Just my opinion. But if you wanted to shoot those smaller calibers then I wish you best of luck. Let us know how they shoot.

I actually tried this once a few years back. I put a .45/.357 sabot inside ofa .50/.451 MMP sabot, stuck a .357 125 gr. Speer GoldDot in the small sabot, and tried it with 100 grains of Pyrodex pellets. Couldn't hardly keep them on a pie plate a 50 yards. I also tried this with a single 000 buckshot pellet. Shot terrible as well.

Just curious after seeing them. I have given thought to giving up the .30-.30 .308 and just using the ML for all hunting accept archery. I really like the more pure of a concept/method ML offers over centerfire and I was interested in a way to make the .50 a smaller cal higher velocity flatter shooter.

I bought 120 last year of 175gr and 195gr.I shot them this year195gr for hunting and I now just playing with the 175. At times I had a 2-" group at 150yrds and was 2" high at 100. Killed 3 does. Never found a bullet and 2 of the 3 didn't goe through the deer. l deer dead and hit right where I aimed. Bullet blew up inside and did significant damage. Expensive if you shoot a lot and not real impressed with bullet performance. I'll probable keep using because our late season in Mich we can shoot 3 does and I hunt over CRP field that are 220yrs square and these are the flatest shooting bullet I have found so far.

This is most likely where you seen them ,personally The 40 cal in a blue sabot is really good why fix it if it is not broke on top of that only the 200 gr bullets hold up in 40 cal so I would expect those 357 to fragment. Lee
