We just got back from our local Wal Mart. I picked about a $120 worth of close out stuff in the hunting section. Once I had checked out my wife ask me if I had checked my reciept to be sure I only paid what the actual cost was. I hum hawed around aroung and finally said "NO". She checked my reciept and they had overcharged me $9.65. Once we got the money backI ask her if she always did that. Of course she answered. She went on to tell me that at christmas she found a $60 mistake. She used to work at Wally World and she says sometimes the mark downs don't get entered into the registers for a couple of days. Now I am wondering how much I have lost by not checking the reciept. Us being retiredwe have to be careful with our money.

Yep! I check mine before I even leave the store. And have found mistakes. Grocery stores are the worst for that. An item is on sale and you buy it for that reason, then while busy unloading your cart it rings through without you watching at the usually inflated price. I've caught one Grocery Store three times in a row. Finally had a little chat with the manager about it.
Good heads up there.... we all need to save money.

I bought a cheapo reel there that was marked $15 and it cost me $40. It was completely priced wrong, no markdown involved. By the time I realized it I couldn't find the receipt. Lesson learned.
My wife is good like that too. She watches like a hawk. I give her credit though, she does find a lot of mistakes. I have started paying more attention to it also.
I always check the item I want with their spot scanner that hangs on several pillars in the store and so far I have never been over charged. In fact I found an item for my wife that was marked as 197.95 on the box and scanned it and it came up for 98.95 [:-]so I took it to the register and that is what it came up there also. The item wasn"™t on sale they just had it marked wrong in their computer according to the store manager. I couldn"™t stand it and had to ask"¦yes they do sometimes mark things wrong in the other direction. The manager said good catch!

Just the opposite happened to me. I was walking by the Fishing Reelshow case and happend to see a $57 Garcia Reel marked $24. I asked the Clerk if that was a mistake and he said no. I told him that I did not want to take it to the register up front and have her tell me it was wrong. He said, Hey I'll ring you up here and I said, 10-4 good buddy!
