Hi everyone, I'm new to muzzleloaders. My friend has let me use his hawken style gun and I took a small buck with it. Now, of course I want my own gun...........Of course I want something very practical and affordable without feeling like i got bent over. Does anyone have any suggestions? quality gun decent, affordable price.........any help would be greatly appreciated..

thats easy. You'll be looking at either the cva hawken or the traditions hawken. cva has a rifle called the mountain rifle and it runs $250. Its really a beautiful rifle. www.possibleshop.com

CVA mountain rifle is pure beauty and offers a 32" barrel.

Many people pin CVA as a brand for newbies and rookies. People say that its only a good starter gun for someone who dosent know what they are doing.

I bought mine three seasons ago when I was starting out and find that its very reliable and shoots in accurate patterns when I am range shooting and accurate when hunting with it.

I have plans to buy another gun in the future but that will be just for fun, not because it isnt good enough or fun to shoot.

Mine was about $100 dollars, (buckhorn) if I was goin to spend 250, I would spend a tad more on a black and blue knight or remington genesis.

NEF Sidekick for $150. The TC Black Diamond is a great gun for the money. I own one.

Get the absolute best gun for your money. It's better to buy the best one now than to upgrade later. Let us know what you end up getting.
