Default Musket caps...

Has anyone here ever tried a musket nipple on a sidelock and used musket caps to improve ignition? Thought I might give it a try since I have the "ingredients".

Yes I have been doing that ever since I found Pyrodex harder to ignite than Black powderthe higher flame tep. and pressure work well with the subs. Lee

yeoman

It is a falacy that musket caps are hotter than #11 Mag Caps or Dynimit Noble 1075+ caps.

It is a fact that musket caps are hotter than regular #11 caps...

It is a fact that musket caps burn longer than #11's or #11 mag caps but for sure heat the 11 mags get hotter.

I've used them but really feel the #11 RWS 1075 or the CCI Mag caps work as well.

Your repies are helpful. I may use them because I have them but won't expect results any better than the mag caps I'm using now. Thanks!

Yeah, the musket caps are much better. They're bigger and easier to grab as well as having a much hotter ignition. I'll only shoot them.
