Default First Black Powder Buck!! (pics)

got him bout 2 weeks ago...he came in at about 5:00 pm about 200 yds away....he got on this main runway and started coming to me...the wind started to swirl and he must caught my scent cause he started trotting off then stopped then walked back where he came from...well i saw a clearing about 120yds out and once i got the i whistled and POW!!! he went crashing in the woods and in the morning we found him...got him is the @ss tho...i had my muzzeloader sighted in a 60yds but at least i got him...this is my first blackpowder deer and buck....i now got the new black powder record at the cabin after 28 years of hunting!!!!

Congratulations on taking a fine buck. What kind of rifle were you shooting. Powder charge, projectile, scope? Again, congratulations.. you sure could not let that one pass by.

Thanks...i have a 50 Cal. Thompson Center...i shoot 80 grains and roundballs...the old kind...but it gets the job done

You were very, very lucky. 120yd shot - which is a long ways for muzzleloader, esp. one sighted at 60. And shot him in the ass? Sounds like a shot to avoid. You were lucky to recover the deer, more than good. I'm glad for you that you recovered your deer, but don't go shooting deer in the ass....
