Default Let's see you BP deer!

Here are my last two season's deer.... from NY.
Many people laugh whenI tell them I use my BP rifle during general gun, (shotgun in my counties) and I just laugh back, Yea I do. It sure would be much safer for us all! Nothing worse than, Boom Boom Boom Boom in a row and they never recover a deer. Lots of flying lead makes me nervous to walk around too.

Hope you had a nice season, SHills

Not my deer but killed by my gun. LOL! A buddy of mine had been seeing 4 racked bucks in a particular green field on each of his bowhunting trips at his hunting club.Problem was thatthere just wasn't a good place to get up a tree to bowhunt them in that area. I told him to take my new T/C Omega and get a jump on the rifle hunters at his club. Alabamaallows 5 days of muzzleloader hunting before the centerfire rifle season starts. Two days before the regular rifle season came in my buddy killed this 7 point. Shot distance was 70 yards. I had him loaded up with 100 grains of 777 and a 250 grain Shockwave. The buck traveled 30 yards after the shot before crashing.

There is my muzzleloader deer. It was the only deer I saw. I shot it with a .54 caliber flintlock using a roundball at 52 yards. It dropped in its tracks.. and sure is good eating.

Here is the first deer I took in 2000 when I moved from FL to NY. I didn't want to buy a slug barrel and already owned a BP for the 1 wk public land season in FL so due to my eye sight I added a 2x scope.
She is a little one! HeHe!50 cal TC Hawken, 240 gr XTP, 80 grains of Goex BP.

Keep'um coming....
Thanks, SHills
