I think that I am getting this figured out pretty well now on the sabots use. Now the question that I need clarified is does a .452 sabot for example need a .451 bullet or can it fit a .452 diameter? I am noticing for example a .45 acp in a .451 dia. in a 240 grain hollow point. Would that work with a sabot?
As far as those crushed rib sabots go is that design to absorb some of the charge or lessen the recoil a little. Are these designed sort of like the plastic shotgun cup. I remember they sort of had a shock absorbing design to them. Would it be most common to use straight sabot or along with the ballistic bridge sub-base?
Where do I find those Gold Dot bullets? Is that the name that they are marketed under another name?

the .452 sabot is good for any .451-.452 projectile.
the .430 sabot is good for any .429-.430 projectile
the .458 sabot is good for any .457-.457 projectile
the crushed rib sabots do not need a sub base 99% of the time. The crushed rib or the HPH-24 are a thinner sabot. While they are the same as the other sabots in accepting bullets, being thinner, they can help with hard loading rifles....
I buy most my Speer Gold Dot and Hornady at Mid Way USA or MidSouth Shooters Supply...
