What $$ am I`m looking to spend on a :Encore SS ,thumb hole camo-stockML ??

Around $600 or so probabally. Have you shouldered the regular stock? The way they are built there is not that much difference in feel and it leaves the rifle ambidexerous.

Here's a listing I found that you can use as aprice guide. Pittsburghunter makes a very good point. Thumbhole stock on the Encore is more cosmetic and not necessarily a benefit.Just seems to be the new trend in rifle stocks these days. The regular stock has pretty much the same feel as a thumhole stock. I have the regular stock and its a very good fit. I wouldn't waste the extra bucks on the thumbhole foran Encore.

Some people don't like the thumbhole, I do. $600 new is about right for what you're looking at.

I would pick up and shoulder both the regular stock and the thumbhole stock. I bought mine with the regular stock and have since installed the thumbhole stock. As already stated, the regular stock is ambidextrous, the thumbhole isn't. It is easier to cock the hammer with a regular stock and it takes a while to get used to carrying a thumbhole stock. With all that said, I like my thumbhole stock better.

This is just an opinion but a thumbhole stock is eye candy and has very little function. Sure it feels nice but there are so many draw back when compared to a traditional stock.

I know of a handful of shooters who do notlike the waythe T/C thumbhole feels or shoulders. Myself included!

On my encore I have the regular style stock in black. I tried the thumbhole and just didnt feel good with it.

One thing I would recommend if you plan to upgrade your encore is to seriously look at the Pro Hunter model. I have spent a good amount of dollars to upgrade mine and now it has about all the goodies you can get for it at probably the cost of a Pro Hunter!

Either way you go you will love the Encore. Took me a short while to get everything "fixed" and tuned but now mine is deadly accurate and wouldnt sell it for twice what I paid for it.
