Flintlock

I've been giving some serious thought to buying a Flintlock for next years hunt. I'm a little nervous about it because i've never even shot one. I've been shooting percussion on and off for 25 yearsso i'm not new to blackpowder but flinters are a different breed of gun. I've been thinking about the Lyman since I already have one in percusionor maybe evena smoothborelike the ones Jackie Brown makes.Anythoughts or advice.

Lyman makes a good flintlock. I sure like mine. As for the smoothbore, I have a .62 caliber but I'm kind of limited in range with the thing as far as accuracy goes. I do have a few things I want to try to make it more accurate, but right now I limit my smoothbore to 40 yards. The Lyman Rifle on the other hand is a 100 yard rifle.

Buy one. I've been hunting with one for 20 years now it's pure joy.
