Default Patch Freeze Test

The weather last night got down to -17F last night so before I went to bed I put a Lehigh Valley soaked patch and a Mink Oil patch outside in a bag. In the morning it was still -15 and they were not stiff or frozen. I used the Trapper Pure Mink Oil from TOTW. I have not tried it in my gun but it is suppost to be a good lube. It is different than what you put on your boots. Anyways tonight It is going to be around 0 degreese so I will try it again with Mink Oil, Lehigh Valley, Wonder lube patches, and anything else I can think of that i have.

If you have some Bore Butter it would be interesting to see what it does; I used it when I lived in Northern IL and never had a problem but some have posted that it freezes up on them. Lee

I found out that at around 30-40 degree's trhe bore butter gets solid as a rock in the tube and you can't sweeze it out.

I do not have bore butter but I did some lubed patches with: Lehigh Valley, TC #13, Mink Oil, Wonder Lube, and a Cabelas patch.
