Default Old Ruger Scope Mounts/Scope

Greets fm CO
I have an older scope that I wish to mount on my new Knight Revolution. The problem is getting the Ruger rings off the scope. It's a self inflicted problem as I used Red Loctite to orig put the rings on the scope. The Rings are removedoff ofan old rifle, just need to get rings off of the scope.
I'm trying something that has worked in the past, letting WD 40 "eat" the Loctite. The screws absolutely will not budge after trying this overnight.
Could I cut thru the side of the "mount/rings" until I cut thru the screws. I am sort of afraid to try drilling out the 8 screws as I'm afraid the vibration would ruin the scope. Any Ideas??? Thanks Ray
