Default do you guys strip them off?

no this post has nothing to do with the "ballet" but when you mount your scope do you take all the sights off and use filler screws, the sight wont be used or needid.. so what do most of you do??

I usually leave the sights on so that in an emergency (dropped broken scope etc.) I can go back to the standard sights and still have a functional rifle. I usually find that the sights are close but mostly they clear the scope so there is not a problem leaving them on.

I should also mention once I take them off I keep them with me in my truck with my lunch pale of muzzleloader cleaning/extra parts so incase of an emergency I can put them back on..but I am starting to like the look of them off..

I took mine completely off because the rear sight didn't clear the scope. And instead of finding filler screws to fill the holes I put a drop of elmers glue-all in each hole. It makes it so that the holes are covered but I can put the screws back on right threw the glue.

I take off the rear sight and put the filler screws in my Encore. My scope wouldn't clear it. But I have it handy in my ML box for just in case.

I had to take mine off the get the 3x9x40 on it - so I took the front sights off also make it easier to put on rain boot on the muzzle also...

And, I have no plans to use it with open sights...
