Default Stupid Question?

Hey guysI know this is probably a stupid question but will any 3x9x40 scope mount onto a CVA wolf? Or does it have to be especially for a ML?

People mount that kind of scope on muzzleloaders all the time. The thing you might run into problems in are the rear sight might have to come off, and the eye relief is important... Although I am not positive is something in the design of the rifle will not allow that scope to be used.

Judging by the picture below in the link, the hammer may get in the way of the eye glass on a 2-7.. but not a 3-9. Looks like you have enough room to the rear sight - unless the scope is longer than normal... like a Simmons Aetec or something. Maybe try to get one no longer than around 12". If you want to play it safe, go with medium rings.

A friend has these Burris Zee rings in medium. I'm getting them someday.... maybe Santa!

I have a CVA Wolf and I had a 3x9x40 on it it worked fine untill I realized it wasn't legal to use during our ML season. I did use it during the regular gun season last year but this year I decided to just leave it off for the regular gun season and get used to the open sights instead of switching back and forth.

If you want see through rings.. for whatever reason.. you will have to get the CVA durasight rings to get the scope high enough to be able to see the sights.

If not.. then yes it will fit just fine.
