Default crud,junk gunk what the f....

i shot my muzzy (muzzleloader) during the summer ...cleaned it knowing i couldnt get it anycleaner i tried to get all the white stuff off and nothing seemed to work... i got it out tonight to reclean it.. the barrels fine but around the hammer , trigger etc there is white crude and some rust [&:][:'(][]its barely been used... its an optima

what will get this stuff off so it will look half way decent

Being not fully sure of what the white stuff is... actually when blue metal starts to rust there are cases where it will form small white dots. After that the dots turn brown rust colors. What you might have is actually the start of some serious rust. I would suggest a solvent and scrub the area as well as possible and then take some good gun oil and run that over the white spots and see if they do not go away.

You might also want to call CVA and ask then if they can tell you want the White spots might be...

If this is really begining rust, you're going to have to get some bluing and touch up the spots. With out really knowing what you're dealing with, its hard to say.

sounds like it wasnt cleaned right and wasnt oiled down. If its on the hammer area, it was over looked and not cleaned.
