Default 375 SSB's shoot sweet in Sidekick

Tried the 375 SSBs for the first time in the SS Sidekick. Load was80 grains Goex 3f, open sights.Chronied an average of 1340 fps while sighting 25 yards. Given a BC of .296, the Muzzle velocity averaged 1377 fps and delivers 1277 ft-lbs at 100 yards (here at 6000 ft elevation)
.

At 50 yards, a 7 shot group formed one ragged hole right at 1" with one stray 1 " from the center of the grouping. I was very impressed with the ease with which they loaded. Easier than the 385 GP which requires a starter. Gonna try more distance later. I think this may be my bullet for rifle season here. If it isn't the 435 which I haven't yet tried.

Coming home, I saw a monster 5X5buck following does about 1/4 mile from the house. Poor guy must have had to fight for them. His forehead was all wet and his face was scarred up from fighting. Had a massive body. Rifle season is over now, so looks like he's gonna make it another year.

Figure 5 grains less powderwith the 435s. Either grain size is very lethal to anything walking the woodson this side of the planet.

Yes, I think so too. Was thinking 75 grains of 777 should get the same (or more) velocity from the 435. Would that be about right?

Been wanting to scope with a Bushnell BDC with SSB's.At 200 yards it coulddeliver over 1100 ft-lbs with 375 grainer or over 1300 ft-lbs with the 435. Sighted for 106 yards, approximately 40 clicks (4 clicks for every 10 yards over 100) should lift zero to 200 yards. They could be all over the place at that range, but i intend to try anyway.

Mine seemed to print the best groups when dropping five grains. You may have to elevate the adjustmentan inch or two. Don't recall messing with the windage setting.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Are you loading BP or 777?

Those SSB's are sure a great bullet. They are one of my favorite of all bullets. Especially in certain rifles.

I am using 777 FFF with Remington 209-4 primers (Kleanbore sister). What was interesting was needing a lubed wonderwad with the 375s- butnot with the 435s.

May wind up being my favorite too. I just can't use them during regular ML season.
