There is not really any advantage of one over the other. They both will make fowling. You can reduce the fowling by the kind of primer you use. I guess ifI had to pick, I would go after the loose. Granted I only shot off one box of the Triple Se7en pellets in 50 grain. And they shot great. I also shot a box of Pyrodex pellets and they shot great.
I shoot a lot of loose powder all the time. It just is more cost effective for me. Although I have to admit, playing with the pellets was a lot of fun...
