Default WHICH IS THE BETTER GUN

Well i stop by one of the local gun shops and checked out the Thompson Center Omega Muzzlelader with a Thumbhole stock and camo the price on it was was $460 something. And i looked at the Thompson Center Encore with a muzzle loading barrel and fully camo with thumb hole stock it was $560. Just wondering if these are reasonable prices for these guns and which is the better gun. Both guns felt really good. Which one would work best with deer hunting. I really like the Encore being able to change the barrel out.

Dick's sporting goods has the Omega on sale right now for $429. I dont know if they have a store down near you, however. Check the website to see...
I do like the Encore though...

both of those sound like good deals, especially wiht the thumbhole stocks. I am guessing they were also stainless stell barrel. As for which rifle is better, they both will shoot great. The encore you can change out barrels down the road. If that is something that appeals to you, then you have your own answer. As for whether they are reasonable prices, I better not comment as I have not priced those model out too much.

well its funny you ask thost barrels were camo. I looked at the inside of the barrel and it is blued which actually worries me. I have always had stainless barrels. Reason being is because easier to keep from rusting. Blued will rust a hole lot easier. If i get them that would be a concern of mine. But i keep my guns super clean though. Anyone have any trouble with blued barrels on muzzle loaders.

I've owned blued muzzleloaders for many years now. I never had a problem with them. Just the idea they are blued worry some people. Treat them like any centerfire and keep them oiled and free of finger prints and they stayjust fine.

I think you answered your own question with your words in bold above.

I have posted this info before on this site about Dicks. The Omega at Dicks is with the stainless stell barrel and Camo thumb hole for $429. I saw this gun in person in Phila, Pa.

I have an Encore. I like the feel and it fits me a little better than the Omega. You can't go wrong with either. Both are extremely accurate.
If you go with the Encore, here's your warning: THEY ARE ADDICTING!!!!! Once you get one you'll be hooked.
