Default looking for a hunting rifle

Traditional Muzzleloader only.Prefer Flintlock but will consider Percussion minimum 45cal. prefer 50 or more..Let me know what you have.Nothing over $900 .i'm on a budget.A kit or partially finished gun would also work. Thanks

are you after a custom, mass produced, or someones collection? There are some fine rifles out there in that price range.

It depends on the price.probably something between mas prod. and low end custom.I've built a few and know custom guns get beyond $900 in a hurry.I'm not too fond of Traditions line but CVA mtn. or A+H ,lyman or something semi /custom that needs finishing etc.
I'd like to stay in the $300-700 range but never can tell.

Perhaps a Lyman Great Plains Rifle in .54 caliber would be the ticket. You can even get them in a kit if you like.

Check Kittery Trading Post's Used Guns section http://www.ktpguns.com/just select Muzzleload: Long Gun under action and search. Also, http://www.williamsgunsight.com/gunsights/813usedblkpowderguns.htm occasionally lists some nicer rifles.

http://cherrys.com/ped_rif1.htm

A lot of guns at Track of the Wolf are consignments and some are used - heckuva selection.

And there is always GunsAmerica, GunBroker, and AuctionArms

Sometimes some are listed in the classifieds of forums like this one - worth a check.
