I am thinking of getting a new muzzleloader and am looking for the best one for under $200. I currently own a Thompson Center Woods Rifle and am looking for a better closed breech one. Any help would be appreciated. Like I said,I only can spend maybe 200 dollars and am looking at the CVA Kodiak or NEF Sidekick with special interest. Thanks for the input.

That link above is for the cva wolf. If you are buying from cabelas, they have the kodiak for $189 which is in your price range. I personally would buy the kodiak over the wolf but i figured i'd give you 1 more to look at.
In your price range a Neff would be a good choice. Alot of people seem to like them and they are American made to American standards. The only thing I don't realy care for is the plastic primer holders, but that's just me.
In your price range, the NEF Sidekick is where I would look. Although that T/C Woods rifle was a great rifle. They because the Black Diamond I believe. Yet it's nice to have a new gun every so often.
Another place I would look is some of the auction sites. There were some outstanding deals on Knights about a week ago. I almost bought a couple of them, but I already own those models.

I bought an Omega last year on sale at the end of hunting season for 150 dollars ,it was worth waiting for;
of those you mentioned I would take the NEF with out any hesitation. Lee
Thanks for the great help. Have you guys shot the CVA and the NEF? Is one more accurate than the other? I've heard the Kodiaks have lousy sights but are pretty good other than that.I probably wanna get abrand newgun because most of the used ones I see are in bad shape. Do you know of any more good ones? The Woods Rifle is the Wal mart version of the Black Diamond by the way.

Not all guns on the auction sites are "used." They were selling NIB Knight Wolverine LK-II's for $85.00 the other week. These were the light weight models with the 22" barrels. I almost bought one, even though I do not need one.
I have a Black Diamond XR and the reason I bought one was because of their reputation for accuracy and the reputation of the Woods Rifles as well. They were quite the rifle in their day...

They dont hav lousy sights. I actually use the same sights that the kodiak uses. I ditched the steel sights i originally had due to the front sight being a really dark red and you couldnt see it in dim light. I love the new ones i put on it. Going on 2 years since i put them on and love them
Heres another rifle i found on cva's website. This rifle has a primer extractor that pops the primers out for you. I kind of wish i could this rifle before i bought the winchester. Maybe i may just add another Inline to my ML'er collection http://cva.com/products/rifle_elk.htm
I just recently bought a NEF Heritage(which istheir camo/stainless version Sidekick sold in Cabelas mag.). Have not got to try it out yet but it feels great and have heard alot of good things about them. The only bad thing I have heard and actually witnessed is the LAME EXCUSE of a RAMROD!!! It is a Extendable/retractible one that sucks. If you want the same concept ramrod but 100% stronger you will need to contact WWW.HUBBARDSOUTDOORPRODUCTS.COMand get a better one from him.
What ever you decide to buy HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK!!!!
