Default t/c enocore bullet selection

not trying to beat a dead horse here. but was just trying to get some opinions on bullets for a t/c encore. I was using the t/c shockwave 300 gr
with 2 50 grain triple 7 pellots last year. Was interested in trying the barnes expanders or spitfires this year. From waht i have been reading it looks like the are pretty hard to get down a t/c gun. Does anyone have any experience with this and waht kind of damage u would get out of this bullet?? I am am going to try tne mmh24 sabots or the crushed rib ones and see if they would load easier, and i would liketo stick with a 300 gr bullet if possible.

I bought 250 grain MZ expanders. I haven't tried them yet but have been reading great things about them. I saw this pic of a 300 grain expander taken from an elk from another forum:

This was at about 120-125 yards. Pretty impressive I think.
You might get a little better accuracy from the 250's. It depends on what you are hunting as far as bullet weight.
As far as having trouble loading them, that is probably due to the famous Encore "crud ring". Good luck with whatever you choose. I think you'll be happy with any Barnes bullet.

I've loaded Barnes bullets into my Thompson Center Black Diamond XR. They were tight, but shot well. If they are too tight, and are not the new boattail model, then change sabots.

hey cayugad have u had good results with the spitzer boattails? Is id true they are made to open up when they fill with fluid, or used as a good breakdown of they hit the shoulder or bone. Im looking for the most pass through power and damage . thanks

I have only owned mine since they first came out but have some experience with it. It likes bullets 250g-300g with sabots .44-.45. Also T7 loose no more than 120g. You will like the shockwave after playing with it a bit.
