you'd have to try them... I tried them in my slow twist barrels and did not have any luck. Have you considered trying a Buffalo Bullet ball-et? They are a little heavier then a roundball and some even have a hollow indent to help with expansion. They might be another alternative.

Try the 245s with about 15 more grains than you normally would for roundball. Seems to me I had success using around 90 grains.

Foul the bore with 50 grains minimum first. Powerbelt Inc recommends that. I normally block the 50 grain powder charge in with an empty plastic sabot fully seated against the powder -- then load normally.

If you haven't purchased these yet, send me a private message with name& address. I have around a dozen leftover for you to try. I believe they are the copper HPs. My compliments - no charge!

I have a Pennsylvania Hunter with 1/66 twist .010 cut rifle barrel and it shoots Power Belts really bad. Tried 245;295 and 348 grainers and none would shoot well.

The best loads I have found for it are the 270 grain Buffalo Ball-et which is a deadly deer load. I don't like shooting them in my roundballgun anymore because it does lead up the barrel a bit.Recently I tried some 250 grain Hornady xtp's out of mmp short black sabots and they shoot around 3" at 100 yards every time I take the gun out. It's my other than roundball load for this gun. I tried the 300 grain xtp with the same sabot and it stabilizes well but really sprays them around. I think the 300 grainers are a bit long for the slow twist barrel, but it loves the 250 grainers. These are .452 diameter bullets.

I don't know if they will work in your rifle but my slow twister just loves those 250 grainer xtp's. I am sending them out with 90 grains of 2f Goex with open sights and theywill shoot as good as I can holdand see.I love it. The nice thing is that they impact the target to the same point of aim as the roundballs. It just doesn't get any better than that. No resighting for both roundball and 250 grain HP's. Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

i'll let you know later on this evening how they shoot. I have a traditions kentucky classic with the 33 1/2" barrel and 1:66 twist. Im going to try 70 grains fffg with 295 grain powerbelt. I'll start out at 25 and then try 50 yards.

Mossie,my slow twist wont shoot power belts or 250 gr but it will shoot almost as good as the Omega with 230 gr XTP and 120gr RS or APP FF. Lee

I forgot to mention in my post from last week to use a wonderwad under the Powerbelt skirt/hollow base. I always buy the 54-cal wads for a tighter fit.

Anyone not having success with the 245 gr .50 cal powerbelts want to unload them cheap send me a pm. I'll pay for shipping and a little extra for your time. Better then letting them take up space in your kit.
