Default NEF Sidekick

I bought a NEF Sidekick and shot it for the first time tonight. I did have an issue with the fiber optic sights. We were running late and didnt start shooting until sunset. Has anyone ever had a problem with not being able to see the front sight because the back ones were "glowing" too much?

yes, and you might need to change out the colors of the fiber optics. I personally like a green front and red back sights for fiber optics, Unfortunately, many of the fiber optics comes just the other way around...

You would better off by mounting a scope on it and pay no mind about the factory sights.Thats a down side on all the new inlines made now is the cheap factory sights.

I would get a scope but they arent allowed during the Minnesota muzzleloader season. The sights on this guns are the Williams Fire Sights which, from what I have heard, are supposed to be good sights. The only problem I had is that during low light conditions the green sights (the sights near the trigger) are too bright and makes it hard to see the red sight (at the end of the barrel). Do you think I could take some black electrical tape and put it over the green fiber optic sights to dim them down?

while the tape might work, there must be a better solution. I personally like a green sight out front and the red ones as the back sight. Perhaps some white out or other such thing, even clear tape to dim them as you put it. Let us know what you figure out and good luck this season.

I always carry a pen light and shine it over the fiber optics for a few minutes, that always takes care of the sights.I do it early morning before I head out to the stand, then I'm ready. You'd be surprised how low they last.
