CRUSHING POWDER PELLETS

Do you fellows feel that you are crushing, or at least deforming your powder pellets with your ramrod? I have gone as far as putting a drill stop on my range rod, and I really think it helps alot. Wasn't the original reason for the pellets "full powder ignition", because of the center hole? Now it seems everyone uses it because of convenience. I think most accuracy problems that people have is due topressure differences. I also believe there is more pressure variance because of the misloading of pellets. What do you guys think? In most of my rifles I have gone back to bulk powders, It makes me feel more consistenet, and I shoot with more accuracy. Tom.

Loose powder has always been more consistent / accuratefor me...tried Pyrodex P, RS, Select, and pellets...RS turned out to be the one back when I used Pyrodex.

Here's a thought...if you're going to take the loose powderroute and have to rezero your rifle anyway, you might go the final step and use Goex...it's outstanding...fast, clean, consistent,accurate...all I use in .40/.45/.50/.54/.58/.62 cals

You're not supposed to crush the pellets is my understanding. Just seat the projectile firmly on the pellet. I agree loose powder is just as easy to use, but to be honest, I purchased some pellets last year, and I have to admit I really like them in my Knight Disc and my Black Diamond XR and they shoot great.

Don't seat them firmly after the bullet meets the pellets at the breech. Crushing them produces an air gap - which in turn raises bore pressures.
