In another thread I was asking about cheaper sources for bullets. Now that I have looked around, I ask- what is a good basic bullet weight?
I've seen bullets from 230 to 525 grains in sizes that I can use with the Harvester sabots that I plan to buy.
I'm hunting whitetail in New Hampshire- so trees, underbrush and cornfields are likely. ML is (going to be) an NEF hunstman .50. Powder type and charge not yet determined.
What would you use?

You rifle and powder will decide for you how heavy ofa bullet it likes. Some rifles will shoot heavy conicals better and others like smaller projectiles. I would use Triple Se7en. I heard it is a good powder. Try both FFG and FFFG. Pyrodex is also another good powder.

Depends on what gun with what twist
Hawken 45 cal with real bullet. 50cal PRB or real bullet. 54cal PRB real bullet or maxie ball these are all 1-48 or 1-66 twist
inlines TC System one 1-38 twist-50 cal 230 XTP or 250 XTP, .54cal with50cal 300gr widner bullet
Omega 50 cal. one in 28 twist,250 XTP, 300XTP, 250 or 300gr Shock Wave, 50/40 200gr Shock Wave.
I believe the twist has a lot to do with what weight range the gun will handle best finding the right sabot that fits just so has a lot to do with accuracy, then run the different powders through with the range of loads allowed for your gun keep records of what works and how well so you can suit the bullet and load for the game and the circumstances.
