Default maple stock ??

Hey guys i was wondering if any of you know where i could pick up a 2"t,x12"wx 5'L slab of maple? It doesnt have to be the best of grade, im looking for something not to expensive. Im building a .36 rifle for my nephew. I already built a full length stock out of pine but i want something that holds up better and will last a long while. i'll even settle or walnut, What ever is easiet to find. I need something with not to many knots and no cracks. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
Jon

Default RE: maple stock ??

Not sure where you live but these folks have some real nice wood at great pricing. Depending on where you live I bet shipping would be pricey.

I bought a piece of 10/4" x 9" x 5' of rock maple for only $45. Nice place to visit they are only about 20 minutes from my house.
