Default ?NEW MUZZLELOADER?

HEY GUYS- I'M IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW MUZZLE LOADER.
I WAS LEANING TOWARD THE NEW TC X7. HOWEVER, I'M NOT SURE IF THE SHORTER 24" BARREL WILL EFFECT MY ACCURACY.
OR- MAYBETHERE IS ANOTHER M.L. THAT I MIGHT BE OVERLOOKING?

Accuracy wise with a 24" barrel I would not get too concerned. People shoot White & Knightrifles with 22" barrels with exceptional long range accuracy. I think that new Thompson Center Omega X7 is one excellent looking rifle. Another one I would be looking at in your case is the new T/C Pro Hunter. If shooting long distance SABOTS is what you want you can not beat the Thompson Center. If you want to shoot conicals then look somewhere else. While I would recommend a White for conical shooting, they are hard to come by right now unless you purchase used.

Another good shooting is the Knight Disc Extreme rifle. Again it is no longer in production but they are out there. Some real good long range choices...

Good luck with your rifle selection.

The Disc Extreme is in production. It's the Elite your thinking of Cayugad. No open sights on it so it's scope only.

The X7 is one of the best looking rifles out there without a solid wood stock.
If you are sure you want to enter and stay in the sport I bet it will be a fine rifle. T/C is my favorite mfg I own many of their muzzleloaders. That being said there are many cheaper rifles that will perform fine that you can buy to make sure you want to stay in the sport and also cut your teeth on.

Good luck!! enjoy the new sport.

I get confused over them.. I only have a Disc. When things were more simple...

The Extreme is a Disc with a more weather resistant disc and a more ambidexterous stock design. It's basically the new Disc rifle.

The Elite is an Extreme with a different recoil lug and a tapered barrel with no sights.

I don't know what they named them that close. I say Elite all the time when I mean Extreme, just not when I type.
