Default TRIPLE 77 CRUD CRUST

I was out to-day with my inline thunderhawk 50 cal and seem to find the pet load in this gun.I use 75 grains of triple 777 along with 375 grain SSB BUFALO SABOT and have to say at the 100 yard target these bullets will clover leaf all day long.I know the thunderhawk is a little pain in the butt when it comes time to clean, bolt has to be removed also flame thrower nipple has to come out and then it pretty simple. I use a brass brush along with hot water barrel cleans up pretty fast,I find the main problem is trying to get the crud out of the action,I seem to try every solvent I have on hand.I spray and clean usingQ tips but the crud is still there, seem it like it cake on to the metal.
I next thought after running out of different solvent hay what the heck let try windex window cleaner, this stuff work great the crud came off like silk one shot with a few Q tips and clean as a whistle.

I use a diluted solution of Simple Green Cleaner to remove the fowling in the breech on the inlines. That is some of the best cleaner out there on the market. I even use a patch or two of Simple Green to remove fowling in the barrel. I bought a gallon of the solution and them mix my own.

It sounds like you have an excellent hunting load there with those 375 grain SSB's. They carry a lot of down range thump to them..

A 50/50 solution of citrussoap and water works for me.
I don't have near the problems cleaning my Thunderhawk that I used to since I switched to APP it takes a little more powder but actually groups tighter. Lee

Congrats on your load - it always makes one feel good when you find a combination that you have confidence in...

Windex - marvelous stuff - I have been using it for years... it simple melts t7 & with the tint of ammonia mixed in with it - it drys quickly and according to the commercials "without streaking" - no windows on a ML but to remove T7 grime it is simpe amazing.

A better mix for cleaning power with 777 is doing a 50-50 mix of Windex&rubbing (isoprophyl)alcohol.
