Default Hoppes No. 9 lube

I have been thinking about buying some of the Hoppes lube that roundball uses on his patches. What do you guys think about this lube? I think I might just start using that on all of my patches and I might even try to lube some wads with it. I like how it doese not freeze as easy as bore butter. How do you suggest lubing pathces with that stuff? Could I dip them in it and let them dry on a screen or just use a spray bottle and spray at the range? I wouldrather dip the patches in it and let them try on a screen. Also, how would I lube wad's? The same way?

Do you think that these "Economy" patches would be good to try in bags of 500? I could just buy a bag of 500 for 50-59cal and use them for my 54cal and 58cal when I get my GM barrel. I would just lube them with that Hoppes. I am not too interested in buying strips of patch material and cutting at the muzzle.
Scroll down a little ways.

Default RE: Hoppes No. 9 lube

I don't use anything messy at the range. I dry all my patches for weeks & months beforehand. I even bring small needle-nose pliars for handling my lubed conicals at the range. When handling the ML so often at the range, the only thing it encounters by my fingers/handsis alittle wettness from swabbing with a mix of alcohol and/or plain Windex.

I just made-up some damp moosemilk patches yesterday. I'll let them sit in my Altoids tin for about 10 days before using. I used a 50-50 mix of alky & water for the liquid part. I'm expecting them to be basically dry when I shoot some roundballsthe weekend after next.

I was going to purchase a few of roundball's Hoppe's #9 BP Plussupply to try-out, but I have a store nearby that sells it for $4.29. This way, if I don't like it, I won't have any leftover investment laying around.

Now I have four patch lubes to try with Swiss FFF. I have bore-butter pillow-tickers, Permatex, moosemilk and Hoppes.
