Default How to Bench a Muzzle Loader ??????

my question has ta do with sandbag placement

is damage to the stock a consideration as towhere bags are placed?????????

should the forearm bags be directly beneath the the keyway/wedge attachment ???????????????? or don't it matter ?????????????

I sandbad (rice bag actually) the forearm stock of the rifle. Never rest the rifle on the barrel of the rifle. Especially if the barrel is free floating like the black diamond and some of the bedded rifles. It will effect your accuracy. Then it is nice to have another sandbag or something, on the butt stock where you can rest it there and just lay your head on it.

Lately I've been doing all my shooting off one sandbag under the forearmto make sure that I can shoot from just the one rest. It is the same way I shoot from a blind.

good info from cayugad.i like the adjustable rest that goes under the wedge area. this way i can lift front up.i also just like a big sand bag also under the wedge.some of the others i see lately are using the rest that you sight your gun in with.
