Default A DAY AT THE RANGE T/C THUNDERHAWK 54 CAL

WELL HAD SOME TIME TO KILL TO-DAY SO I TOOK A TRIP TOO THE RANGE .I REALLY WANTED TO SEE HOW THE THUNDERHAWK WILL SHOOT
WITH THE TRIPLE 777 POWDER I PICK UP AT WALMART FOR $9.00 BUCKS A CAN.
MY RANGE RESULT WERE EXCELLENT MY OLD LOAD WAS 90 GRAINS OF REAL BP GOEX 3F AND BUFFALO 375 SSB 50 CAL. BULLET BUT DROP INTO A 54 CAL. HARVESTER SABOT
I FOUND 80 GRAINS OF TRIPLE 777 DID EXCELLENT 5 SHOTS IN ABOUT 2 INCH GROUPE AT THE 100 YARD TARGET ,DON'T NEED MORE THEN THAT TO DROP A DEER.
I ALSO THOUGHT ABOUT THE GUYS WHO SHOOT THEM NO EXCUSS BULLETS MAN I GIVE YOU GUYS GREDIT,I LOADED UP SOME 500 GRAIN
45-70 WITH 70 GRAINS OF BP IN MY 45-70 THEY WILL ROCK YOUR SHOULDER,WILL SWITCH BACK TO A WIMPY 405 GRAIN CAST.WOULD HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING HIT WITH THEM 500 GRAINERS IN THE 45-70
AND WALKS AWAY GOD BLESS THEM DEER

Triple Se7en is a good sabot powder without doubt. Those SSB's are an excellent bullet. With the kind of down range performance you get from them, there is no deer that could take a hit from them..

Good shooting there!!

Thats interesting my Thunderhawk likes 240 gr kieth nose hollw points[Pure lead] and 100grRS it will shoot 1 to 1.5 inch all the time with that load.
All my 1-38 twist guns shoot good. Lee

I had excellent results with 240 xtp mag bullet with heavy charges of pyrodex select 115 grains of powder.
I also found 300 grain silverlighting bullet shoot excellent made by precision bullet company
