Default Rocky Mountain Hawken

Took her out this morning. She's gonna be a shooter. This target is the very first 5 rounds shot through her. I'm happy. Will be doing some more playing with her though.

That's some real good shooting. For just starting a rifle you sure can not complain about that... be sure a post a picture of the rifle sometime..

Nice shooting !!!

Are you the poster who taught me about using Permatex Hand Cleaner (blue label) as roundball patch lube a couple of years ago? That's the best patch lube on the planet.

Is that what you're covering your roundballs with?

T7...sure enough my friend. Was using the D&L for lube on these patches too.
Thank you C for posting it. Will get pics of her when I find someone with a digital. Someone at the factory erred...rear sight isn't the fixed primitive that's supposed to come on it. The one on it is a Sharps Gemmer model. My catalog says $70 for it. Not quite period correct but I'm not complaining cause that particular sight is elevation adjustable...looks good on her too.

That is some good shooting!!! I would really like that rifle some day. First I think I am going to get a Lyman Great Plains Hunter for shooting conicals. This Rcky Mtn Hawken is out of my price range!

Hard to beat them Lyman GPR's. Have shot many deer with one. Here's a brochure pic that came with mine. In this pic it has the rear sight on it that is on mine. C you might have to fix this one too.

No, you are putting it between image brackets. Just copy and paste any web-hosted image right into you post. Not the url - the picture itself.
