Default Shooting the White @ the farm

Nothing spectacular to report, but at the farm I can only get a 60 yard range - and you know with the White that does not even seem challenging anymore.

But, just for the heck of it, I thought I would shoot a group of Noslers at the paper - expensive but what the heck. So any way I shot some Nosler Partitions - 260 grain .451's in Nosler Sabots (HPH-12) on top of 110 grains of T7-2f. I was a very successful shooting @ 60 yards - four of the 5 bullets were touching - the fifth was @ 2:00 about a half inch from the group. Well, that was expensive enough experiment, but it was fun- so I went back to shooting XTP's, finished up a jug of T7 - so I loaded up and went back to town.

The Ultra Mag continues to be an awesome gun and truly fun to shoot... I am thinking I really need to go shoot the Omega sometime also, but the White always seem to get in the pick up first.

UC - if you pick up on this - the new 209 nipple that Doc sent me works great... no blown out primers, no sticking in the nipple, no crud-ring, NO BLOWBACK from the barrel - small amount of sootfrom the the primer, but that is it. I shot 35 shots this afternoon and never had to clean a thing, the nose of the hammer was dirty but the body is clean. Thank you and Cayugad for the steering lesson.

Working faster than my mind too! Twice. Just checked, I've got one of those so might have to give it a try. In the past there has been some problem with the spring breaking off - so you might ask about extra springs for them.

Thanks, i will ask about the springs. But, as i look at the setup before and after the shot it does not look like there is any pressure in that area at all... All of my other inlines will blow back a primer once in awhile, but not this one. If I had finner nails I could pick the spent primers out that way - they just are not tight.

Oh! one other thing when I was in the Tri-cites the other day I stopped in Sportsmans Surplus - course I went right ot the rifle counter.. Guess what?

I bought another rifle Savage with an Accru-Trigger - shot it also today at the farm. I really like that Accru-Trigger....

GOTTCHA...

your wife can't blame me for this one... You be sure and have fun with that rifle. It looks like a nice shooter.
