Default $109 piece of plastic junk is a real shooter!!

Yep!! Finally had a chance to really shoot the Omega I got at Walmart last fall and I am glad to report it shot great. We only put 20 shots through it but 2" at 50yds was the rule with 110g T7 and 250g Shockwaves open sighted.

I can't wait till it's broken in this thing has the potential to be a real shooter. We were shooting very informal with a plastic rest as well.

BTW the sights I put on it from my Encore are exellent to say the least, almost too bright.

That's quite a good shooting rifle you have there. Sounds like another Omega is proving itself as usual.

When walking thru dense thickets or thorny briars, plastic junk is nice to have...lol [X(][X(]

Triple Se7en, you have a good memory. I want to keep this rifle an open sighted rifle for the thickets you describe. I need an all weather open sighted rifle and this thing out of the box looks awsome.

Cayugad, never thought it would shoot as good as the regular Omega's I have read about out here but, what can I say? My son and I were taking turns two shots each and missing the black of a 50' pistol target was rare. They have a 3" bull. We just argued about sight picture, that's all. LOL!

Sometimes when we aren't really looking or not
paying attention, we seem to stumble upon a
real find. This is what makes life go round & I
love it.Glad to hear the Omega is a nice shooter!
Guess the old old adage "you can't judge a book
by its cover" still applies. Danny

Igot one of them to .I firelapped mine to break it in it had some burrs.
I am just getting every thing ready for a boar hunting trip to OK so I sighted it in with the new bonded 250 Shock Waves when I went down to the target I could not hardly believe it 1.5 inches at 150yds ; that the best I have done in 47 years of shooting Muzzleloaders! Lee
PS just in case your interested the load was 120 APP- FF- Win 209

Lee, I have never had a problem with standard 209 Winchester primers so yes I am glad to hear they work good for you that is what we were shooting. I always shoot them, never had any problems with them.

This rifle may be one of the best out of the box guns ever for me. Glad I painted it's ugly ass....

Pittsburghunter,What paint did you use? I just might try a camo of some kind. I am almost scared to change any thing the way it shoots it will shoot those 50/40 SW 200gr like that to but it take 150 gr of APP-FF to do it, reminds me of a varmit rifle. Lee

KRYLON Special Purpose Paint. They have a camo line you need the following colors. Kakie, olive drab, bown and black.

Works real well. I use plastic grass as you see in the background to lay the colors down.
