Default Discless Elite

Discless Knight Elite

Larry Hand (Woodgoat)has been at it again - converted a Knight Disc Elite that used the "full plastic jackets" to a #11 ignition. Shown installed with bolt open:

Seems to work very well:

This could make the Disc Elite/Extreme (and that use the same/similar bolt legal in some areas where 209 ignition is not allowed.

Conversion is reversible byreinstalling a standard Knight breech plug and the original striker. No modification is done to the bolt housing. The striker for this mod is only about .1" longer than the factory original and takes advantage of the existing free space around the current striker where it comes through the bolt housing.

Most any 1/4 x 28 threaded nipple can be used to replace the one that is installed as there is some tolerance given the striker's travel.

Larry has indicated he can do this mod for others if they send him their bolt and a breech plug (a clean used plug would work fine) and some money of course. Anyone wants his contact info, PM me.

Pretty cool!

Good job!!!! The Disc rifles need this option. Now you better get a patent on it before Knight uses it. Im sure there are alot of Knight users out there who are going to want this.

Yeh I never considered buying a Knight because of the plastic thing'es.

If someone builds a cheap mod I will look at he old rifles again.

I think if you send him your bolt andcorrect breechplughe will perform the mod for $70 total including return shipping to US addresses. Disassembling the bolt is quite a task apparently, a new striker must be manufactured and installed, the breechplug modified and nipple installed.

Today's test results I think he pulled one low.
