Default What bonded bullet?

I will be getting my .300RUM and my 7mm08 reloaded and want to use scirocco, accubond,or interbond. The .300 will be 165-180gr. and the 7mm08 will be 150-160gr. depending on what bullet I go with. I will use both guns on elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, and black bear. The .300 I have used factory remington scirroco in 180 grain on two elk and they worked great. The 7mm08 in new this year so I have no info on how it works on game.Thank You.

I really like the Scirocco's - have taken five elk with the 130 grain .270, two with the 180 grain in .300 Win Mag, and was right there when one was killed with a 150 grain 7MM out of 7 Rem Mag. The farthest any of these elk has gone is 20 yards and the longest any have lived is four seconds.

I think the Accubond and the Interbond are both very good bullets as well. The Accubond, from what I have seen on one elk, seems to set up quicker than the Scirocco - makes a bigger hole through the ribs and a smaller hole through the lungs. Kills pretty well, though. The Interbond I have yet to get to shoot well in any of my rifles so far.

The Speer TBBC's are also very good bonded bullets, although they lack the high ballistic coefficient of the polymer tipped projectiles. Not really an issue until you get out there about 400 yards . . . . .

hondaman, I would go with which ever shoots the best in your rifles, as they should all work well and have read supportive reviews of each bullet. However I have only used the AB in 160/.284 in my 7mm rem mag on game, it performed excellent on both an elk and moose last fall. I picked it over the IB as it was slightly more accurate and I have always been pleased with nosler offerings in the past. The scirrico's I tried a number of years ago in 270 and 7mm rem mag they just didn't group well for me so i never even gave them a consideration.

Ya know, I've been pondering that very question myself. I've been toying with the idea of the Accubond bullet. I've been using Nosler's Partition bullet for so long that I can't get out of the rut. The partition is a meat wagon....anything that it touches goes on the wagon. I've been contemplating the accubond, but in the mountains tried and true is worth much more than hyperbole.

I have been loading the Nosler Accubond with great results on paper & meat. My wife & I have killed antelope, whitetail, mule deer & elk with Nosler Accubond bullets. I used the Nosler Partition for several years with the same results.
The rifles/calibers I am loading for are as follows.
7mm-R.U.M., 300-win. mag, 300-R.U.M. & 375-R.U.M.
The 7mm-R.U.M. & 300-win mag have taken several animals with the accubond.
The 300-R.U.M. belongs to a friend of mine. He has taken several animals with it useing 180-grain Nosler Partitions. This year he will be shooting Nosler Accubonds, that I reloaded for him.
The 375-R.U.M. is my new love. I have not shot anything but paper with this rifle. I am handloading 260-grain Nosler Accubonds behind 100-grains of H-4831SC. I have shot 1/2" to 3/4"-groups @100-yards from the bench with this rifle.

I use failsafes for elk and rem core-lokt ultras for deer, etc. These are just the most accurate out of my rifles, and they kill cleanly with a well-placed shot. Couldn't get the accubonds to group as well as the ultras.

Core lokt are NOT bonded bullets - but rather a cup and core designs the same as powerpoints, hornady interlocks, etc
