Default A different question for all you mighty hunters.....

How many of you like to hunt with your spouse? Kids? How many of you would rather keep that time to yourself and not go with anyone else? Now that you've answered that, tell me why or why not?

I hunt with my wife 99% of the time. I would rather spend quality time hunting with her, than shopping at the mall.

i'd have to say its a 50/50 deal, i mean, my wife got me into hunting, but the last few years she has not been able to go hunting, she has been fighting cancer the last 2 years. but so far ( knock on wood ) it looks like she will be able to go hunting this year,,, as long as she is a good girl,, lol.
but then again i like to go by my self, there are some place that i like to go, that most ppl have a hard time with , but hey thats what happens when that stupid sound goes off,, and yes i will call a bugle a stupid sound,, since,, when i hear it,, i get kind of stupid, and go places i know are gonna be hell to get out of, ecspecialy if i get one down,, but thats hunting.
i am lookin forward to takein my son this year his not even close enough to hunt ,, but he is an avid hunter when it comes to watchin huntin videos, so i think its only fair he should see them up close and real if we can manage it .

99% of my hunting is done solo. I take my boy up with me to camp once in awhile, and to hunt grouse, but thats about it. I prefer to hunt alone, I guess it's just my personality.

I try to take the wife everytime, but sometimes its the kids or my brother, but rarely alone. I will split off and spend a day alone hunting or half day alone, but its always w/ someone back at camp.

bkkeys,
Sorry to hear about your wife. She'll be in my prayers. I can't imagine the fight she is going through right now. Hope that she is able to make it back to the hunting grounds with you someday soon.

Around 3 years ago, my mom tried to set me up with this gal and, I kid you not, this is how mom tried to sell her to me "She likes to hunt and fish. Her parents own a ranch outside of Jackson. Her dad loves to hunt and has a full pack string. She is pretty too."

Anyway, I like hunting alone. Just like I enjoy fly fishing alone.

Some of my favorite trips have been solo...

My wife hunts with me most all the time. I consider every day with her a gift.
