RE: 30-30 winchester
Here we go again. The answer is absolutely yes. The 30-30 has range limitations but for a time held the world record for Grizzly bear with a one shot kill. Now there are better guns for ranges beyond 100-125 yards but out to that range the 30-30 will do a good job in the hands of someone who can shoot it. My son has has dropped seven nice Mule Deer bucks with as many shots with the model 94. I have killed quite a few deer, Black Bear and moose with the same gun. For a while it was the only rifle I had and never felt under gunned. My Grandpa shot many elk with that same old rifle before he handed it down to me. Just learn to shoot it and respect its range and enjoy it. Its unbeatable for short range and tree stand hunting. Light and easy to carry.

that gun and bullet weight is a great combo, i use it all the time, have taken many deer with it over the years. i second everything else that has been said on this thread.
