Colorado Elk Hunting
Where in Colorado are the largest population of Elk on Public Hunting Land? What GMUs should I focus on for a do-it-yourself pack in hunt? I'm currently deployed and heading to Iraq. I want to plan a trip so when I get back, I'll be able to head for the high country. Could use some help here guys. I'm going to rent the horses from the sombero ranch, I have all the gear and I know to pack in far from the crowds and roads, reading a map is second nature to me, being an Infantry officer. Living in a 3 man tent for 10 days is not a problem or eating MREs, I just need somebody to help me with an area where I'm going to see some elk, I can do the rest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
