Does anyone hunt anything other than whitetails with shotguns?

Well, I don't know of anybody that hunts anything with shotgun slugs. Seems to me the only time that people do that is when that's the hunt restriction. That's not common here in the West. It seems that is only normal is the East where there is flatter land, lots more hunters, and why that is a common tool for whitetails. Every year Utah has a muley doe hunt near residental areas where only shotguns are allowed but other than that people opt for other tools when legal.

Qt, there's alot of placses in Florida the cover is thick and we use
12ga--OO shot, but it's a matter of choice. Yes I have used 12ga slugs for hogs.

I have heard of Alaskan Fishing Guides using slugs for protection against Grizzlies.

I hunt in close brush in Texas with a 12 gauge using 3.5 in 00 for both hogs and deer. Though I use a .30-06 as well. It depends on mood and method.

Rather,

I have hunted hogs with 2-3/4 sabots, .45 autos, Win 94 .35Rem and .44 carbine.
What ever I'm in the mood for, except .22mag. Not legal here, but many guys do.

Some guys carry shotguns with slugs for bear protection, but more of them carry a .45-70.
