Default Thorofare Adventures/Hidden Creek Outfitters

Anyone had any experience with these guys. Bought a 2006 Elk hunt with them at a RMEF dinner. Need to draw a Wyoming tag also. Any suggestions.

You bought the hunt for just one year 2006? And no tag in your possesion? Might be a tuff row to hoe! Hardest part of elk hunting here is getting the tag. Next, Jan. you can apply for 2006. You might be best to apply for the more expensive tag, it has better odds some times.

Don't know much about the outfitters, but if they are who I think they are then you are in for a treat. I've been in on the Thorofare and it is GORGEOUS country!!! You'll love it in there. Enjoy the trip. It'll be a good one.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping the outfitter will be able to assist me with the tag. Do they get an allocation in Wyoming?

chopper69, I just recieved my tag for 2005 in unit 60 (Thorofare area). I applied in the "special" draw which just means you pay double the price but have a very good chance of drawing. This year my outfitter drew 75% of their applications. They said some years it will be down around 60% which is still good. The regular draw has about a 20% draw rate. Be prepared to pay the piper though. The special draw tag runs $893 this year. The regular elk tag runs $493.
