Default The time has come!

I have been practicing like a mad man, I am ready for competition. I even gave Paul a little taste the other night over the phone. But reality has struck again[:@]! My wifes work has fallen off and we have had some unexpected bills hit us hard. So no matter how much I want my wife to see her family in Salt Lake and I want to call in competition and meet all of you, we can't afford to make the trip this year[:'(]. This was a post I was trying hard to not have to make. So all of you have a grand time in the get together on Saturday night. And the best thing I can come up with for me, is I won't have to suffer with a beef steak. I will sit back with my wife, a cold one and an elk steak and think of all of you. And guys, somebody step up and beat Audrey for me.

Rather_be_hunting, I wish the year had started better for Tammy and I, but reality wins. And I am forced to deal with it.

You know BareBack Jack, I have lived through bad times before and they never come at a good time. But I will weather this one too. I am glad you got Paul's tapes, an excellent choice! As for the calling competitions, they are a hoot. I always have a good time at them. Not only do you meet some great people, you always will learn something new and I like that part. But the best part was going to be the group of people that are going to be there. All top notch, I am going to miss a great time. And I feel bad because I pushed hard to get some of these guys to show up and I can't be there[SAD][]. But Paul will stand in and call for me, it will be OK, right Paul[I'll send you a tape of me and you can play it back and cheat.]. And remember the important statement " Be there or be talked about." Have fun guys & gals.

I better not find a little tape recorder in anyones bat with GS's calling on the tape. We will miss not being able to talk with another elk hunter. There is always next time. Keep your head up and thanks for all the tips so far. I can guarentee if we lose it will not be from a lack of effort.

gselkhunter, dang that's too bad but if anyone understands I sure do. In the last 3 years my wife and I have spent a lot of time in Salt Lake City at Primary Childrens Hospital with our son. Even with this trip we let his doctors know we were comming down for the expo and they recheduled his appoitment 2 weeks early so we don't have to make another trip at the end of the month. Hope all goes well and remember there is always next year.

Rather_Be_Huntin, Elkcrazy8, Idahoelkinstructor and Elknut1, my hat is off to you guys. You got me up off my butt and I was working hard on my calling again, Thank You. And because of that Paul got to hear Benjamin[18 months] calling the other night on the phone. I have to admit it is fun having your boys practice when you do. The little guy isn't to bad. I have Paul's address & phone, but I would like the rest of you to send yours to me if you don't mind. I have something up my sleeve so to speak.

gselkhunter---I'm really sorry to hear you can't make it, I was truly looking forward to meeting you!! Life can really throw us a curve now & then, the best we can do is take it on the chin and keep moving forward, I can see you're doing that.

I hope everything works out for you & your family, we'll be defenitely thinking of you folks at dinner, we'll certainly have a toast for you, and wish you the best!!!

I said I was going as a spectator to watch & enjoy, I still may. But I'm seriously considering some needed practice & entering, I'll know in a couple days. Right now Greggs 18 month old could take me! Hey guys he sounded pretty good!!!!

We'll keep you posted big-guy!!!!-----------------------------ElkNut1
