Default Sending stories to mags...

Has anyone sent any of their hunting stories to magazines before? I was wondering what are some magazines that I could send about my archery elk hunt last fall. I know that some magazines will give $100 if they publish your story. Thanks again.

I have had several articles published in magazines. Mostly its just about braggin rights and little money is to be made. I had the fortunate experience of being on the pro-staff of a magazine. The magazine got bought out and I was on my own way and have not written in a while. Sit down and write yourself an article and send in some good tasteful pics. It never hurts to try. if you are looking for tips for pics ,Eastmans Hunting journal has some good picture pointers. Good luck and I will look for you in future magazines......................... Try Eastmans for your first article.

Solicit first, don't just send a transcript. Check out "getting published" type of books at your library, or a book called Write's Market.

They are accepted depending on the artical content and how much talent you have. Most mags do buy transcripts the challenge is selling them.

Good Luck.
