It sound like your already hooked! The next thing you know you will be calling in elk in your sleep! I tell people who are new to elk hunting.. That to see a bull elk for the first time at 500 yards is OK. To see a bull at 250 yards is kind of neat and you might start to get excited seeing those antlers. To see a bull at 100 yards gets your heart beating. To see a bull at 40 yards might give you the shakes. But to see a bull at 20 yards or 10 yards and under and to have him blow your hat off with bugles well that is undescribeable. You feel like you can't breath, you can't walk or evin stand, and certenly can't talk, ELK TAlk THAT IS!!!!! I remember my first time being under 20 yards to a big bull wow I mean WOW talk about excitment I couldn't get a elk call out of my mouth if my life depended on it. Over time I as well as others have learned to control our emotions and finish the game with a kill. But don't get me wrong just because I have learned control its still the biggest rush of my entire life. I look foward to that time of year when the mountain air is cooling and the leafs are falling off the trees. And those beautiful bull elk are screaming their heads off. Crap this is getting me excited just thinking about it! Sigh only 9 months away[:@]. But in the mean time I guess I too will have to practice my calling and dream about elk and elk hunting!

yes, i got within 20 yards to a bull this year all by using cow calls and a few bugles here and there to rile the big boy up. He cam struting in waving his antlers, and then stoped about 15 yards away to Roar, yes Roar, not bugle, it was crazy, he sounded like one pissed off lion. Best experience of my life!!!! I will always remb. it.

Good luck to you in your elk hunting Future!

he he he. As my handle suggests I wish I could try your drug of choice. Hopefully with our elk re-intro program I can stand before you one day and say "Hi, my name is Steve. I am an Elkoholic."

Thank you and please excuse the intrusion on your meeting.
