Default Wool- What brands to buy?

I've been thinking of buying some wool pants for cold weather hunting mostly because they are quiet. What brands are good? Some of the brands I have seen are King of the Mountain and Columbia.

I also have the columbia pants and jacket. I wouldn't trade them for the world on a cold day.

I have a pair of Weatherby's that are great. You can get them with or without insulation. Mine are insulated and keep me really warm, a little too warm if I do alot of walking, but for sitting they are awesome.

Try the Woolrich or Codet or Cabela's Washable Wool. It's gret to be able to throw them in the washer and the price is right.

I am getting the Weatherby weatherproof wool. The jacket is lined with fleece that appears laminated to the wool thus making the jacket very quiet. I compared this jacket with the waterproof outfitter wool jacket at Cabela's and the dry plus membrane was very noisy compared to the weatherby wool. I looked at the Columbia Gallatin range wool series and made me want to itch...Hope this helps.

Thanks I took a look at some wool clothes a few days ago. One brand that caught my was "Sleeping Indian", Wool/fleece jacket that sounds like the Weatherby. Very well made but too heavy for foot hunting. Seems it would be the ticket for anyone hunting from a stand or on horseback. I did not like the SI gaiters, boot strap was too loose for my boot and there was no elastic or adjustment on the bottom to keep snow from creeping up. You are correct about the dry-plus items being noisy, I have a pair of MT050 which is why I am looking at wool clothes.
