Default Idaho Elk unit 27

I am thinking of hunting this unit in 2005. Been doing alot of reading about it and looking at maps. Seen alot of bulls that are around 300 coming out of there. How hard and long would be the average to find a good 6 point? I have all season and the horses to do it. Just wondering how good or bad the area is.

Hard question to answer. I have hunted Unit 27 and it holds a very good elk population. So your chances might be pretty good if you have scouted well. It is some rough country, but a good hunt..I'm headed out to Unit 14 in the morning, got my hiking boots packed..
