Default USO is the winner/Non-res hunters lose.

I just read the results of our nutless Game & fish commissioners meeting regfarding the USO lawsuit. Way higher fees especially for NR hunters, volunteer bonus points, license purchase up front to apply but NO CAPS ON NON-RES!! Taulman's attorney attended the commissioners meetings and the commissioners who volunteer can be held personally liable for fines by the 9th circuit judge. For those who think George has represented you well in this how will you like paying $3200 instead of $360 for a trophy bull hunt? These guys just represent the elite and wealthy of the hunting world. Kinda like the Brits used to do. Time for another revolution!

The NRA also did a favorable article on this idiot in their magazine so I am pulling my support there. This girlyman is going to kill hunting as we know it for our kids and grandkids. I am hellbent on finding his camp locations for the locals who have nothing better to do and I hope his candya$$ed attorney is there to wave his subpoenas in our faces.

I am sure some of this is not final and I hold hope that the AG is working on something better but I just don't trust the courts or the government to do the right things.[:@]

Is $3,200 the price of the NR's tags now?

The Arizona G&F are the ones who raised the fees, not George, they could have left them the same price. Well I hope Texas starts charging Arizona residents $3,200 for a lic. The AG&F dont care about us, so why should the TP&WD care about the guys from Arizona who come here to hunt?

its that exact attitude that is gonna kill the future of hunting as we know it.

Tex-Nothing is final yet but that is the top price they could approve for a trophy rifle bull hunt. I think $775 will be the price of most bull hunts in most units which is more in line with other states. I also read that Taulman suggested the state allow him to guide them through how to manage the NR tags. Say what you want but if you think this deal is going to help any hunter in any state I would disagree. It is all bad.

God, I hope he can't get very far in Nevada. Who knows where this would go. Already, the Nonresident bull elk tag costs $1200, and if takes more than 10 years in most cases to draw a tag even for residents. If he wins here, who knows where the prices will go, and who knows how hard it will be to draw a bull tag. I feel for you GleninAZ, and all other people who apply there. This is a tough situation, that doesn't look very favorable at all.

BTW-what groups are left out there that would be favorable to join?!!? I need to renew my NRA membership, but with that news, I may just forget about it now. I am still thinking about joing RMEF, the Mule Deer Foundation, and Nevada Big Horns Unlimited, but how do these groups support George.

RMEF, MDF and the Sheep society are good and doing what they can. The NRA is a gun agenda deal so wouldn't expect them to help with state hunting issues. They will support the ones with the most $. Sadly it looks like my defending our good state G&F department was off center as they are not taking the risks they need to to control the commercial aspect. Too much fear of lawsuits and personal fines by a communist court. If I was one of the clients that Taulman listed as supporting this lawsuit I would hang him unless they have more money than brains and wanted to throw some away. More bucks to all of us is going to be the bottom line here. The volunteer points and pay up front for license fees will help resident odds a bit but I can't see where anyone wins on this mess.

I had to look pretty closely to find the story in my NRA mag. that I assume you are referring to here, and that hunting story that mentions USO does not mean that the NRA supports USO or thier cause, and in my opinion is no reason not to support the NRA. The hunter that wrote the story is the one supporting USO! This is not the time to end your support of the NRA!
