Anyone live near montrose or hunt near it..........i am going this next week and wonder what the chances of getting a BIG ONE will be....are the "HORNY" yet.....anyone help me out....never been elk hunting...so im looking forward to it..thanks

One year ago (WOW, just noticed from today) I shot a nice 5x5 with my muzzleloader just south of Montrose by 5 miles or so. Not huge, but defintely nice. They were bugling strong that week. Use a cow call mostly, and once he starts getting fired up, then give him a bugle or two...man I wish I was there as we speak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our group has 11 pp. each for elk need about 2 more points to trophy hunt unit 61 which is near Montrose but it takes alot of points to get picked for the muzzleloader. We have bagged bulls in unit 62 but not real big.
