Default Scope Recommendation Please...

I am getting a new Browning 243 WSSM in the next couple of weeks for whitetail hunting. Right now I am looking at two different scopes... the Leupold VII and the NIKON Monarch both 3x9-40. Any one have strong opinions for either of them???

Both cost around $300 which is really where I want to stay (although my husband is pushing for better and bigger). I'll let hubby buy the "big boys" because he hunts more than me and is much better.

Thanks for helping...
Robin

You can't go wrong with either. The Monarch is Nikon's top scope. Leupold is unbelieveable. I own both. I'd go with whichever is cheaper!

Hard to beat the Burris Signature series of scopes. I have five of those on various rifles. Very crisp optics and lifetime guarantee. Made in USA.

Can you compare them side by side. Then pick the one you feel is the brightest. Personally---I like the Leupold.

I would pick the Leupold because of there quality, service & support. I had them repair a Leupold Vari X-II 3x9x40mm a few years ago that was dropped on a cement sidewalk. I express shipped the scope on Monday morning. They express shipped my repaired scope back to me that Thursday!
I sighted in the rifle the next morning & killed a bull elk with it that evening.
