Well here it is the home stretch. All my gear is ready, just have to pack it in my duffel and backpack. Rifle has been sighted in and been practicing all summer. Boots are broke in good. I have a few phone calls to make tomorrow to double check lodging and with the outfitter. I can't hardly wait for this adventure to begin. GOOD LUCK to all the elk hunters this year.

South of Livingston in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.

Make sure you have some warm clothes & winter boots in that duffle. I have been snowed on five times already this year in the high country. This happened about ten miles from your camp. The snow has all melted, but the potential is still there for a cold wet hunt.
